Job Shadowing, Day 4 16/04
Today we have spent a nice day. We have met the High School Headmistress "dirigente", Susanna, who has been very friendly while talking to us. We have learnt how the Italian educational system works. Students start High School at the age of fourteen, and they stay until the age of 18-19, spending 5 years. They only get the diploma when they complete 5 years.
In Pietro Verri School, students can choose 2 different options, "linguistico" and "tecnico". If they choose "tecnico", they decide a specialty: Economics, Marketing or Techological.
Teenagers can learn three languages: Spanish, English and French or German. Pietro Verri High School organises a linguistic inmersion trip everything year for every language.
We talked about rules and the socioeconomical context of the school.
We gave Susanna a present: an artistic photo book of Seville.
Milan is wonderful and has lots of public transport options. You can take the metro, bus or tram everywhere. Milan is a fashion and multicultural city where you can enjoy going shopping, going for a walk or simply looking around.
Art and culture are very important in Milan. You can find exhibitions in museums, galleries and in the street too. We found a beautiful photography exhibition that was illuminated by solar energy.
