Journal of Aksaray - Day 1: 19/05/25 by Samuel Parrado and Juan Curiel

 We finally arrived Aksaray, which received us warmly with a typical Turkish breakfast.

Once we got up, we met Mehmet, the fantastic Erasmus coordinator, who took us to a “meatball party”, the name they give a barbecue, where we got to know some Turkish students. 

After that, some teachers from the high school and us went to a famous lookout where we saw the amazing city views. Then we walked around Aksaray, visiting monuments such as the Ulu Cami mosque.

Finally, we met with the students from Abdulhamid Han Fen Lisesi, having a great time together, sharing culture and gastronomy, and most important, getting to know them.

In general, we were amazed by the quantities of tea that are drunk in Turkiye, and how charming these people are. We are really excited about the rest of days.

Los estudiantes Erasmus finalmente llegamos a Aksaray, que nos recibió cálidamente con un desayuno típico turco. 

Una vez despiertos, Mehmet, el fantástico coordinador Erasmus, nos recogió en la entrada del hotel para llevarnos a una “meatball party”, como llaman a las barbacoas, donde conocimos algunos estudiantes turcos. 

Luego, algunos de los profesores de nuestro centro designado y nostros fuimos a un conocido mirador donde se podía observar toda la ciudad. A continuación, dimos un paseo por Aksaray, visitando sus monumentos más importantes, como la mezquita Ulu Cami.

Finalmente, nos encontramos con los estudiantes del centro Abdulhamid Han Fen Lisesi, con los que pasamos una gran tarde compartiendo cultura, gastronomía y principalmente, conociéndonos.

En conclusión, quedamos impresionados por la cantidad de té que consumen y lo acogedora que es esta cultura. Estamos muy emocionados por lo que queda por venir.
